Reconstruction with the Keller Funnel™
Considering silicone gel breast reconstruction? Nearly 70 percent of women in the U.S. elect to undergo breast reconstruction using a method involving the exchange of a tissue expander followed by an implant. Tissue expanders are inserted below the skin and muscle, and inflated over several months to stretch and grow the skin to create space for the permanent implant.
A new technique for exchanging tissue expanders with implants includes the use of the silicone implant delivery device, the Keller Funnel™. The technique, created by Dr. Kevin Keller, a board-certified plastic surgeon, has many potential benefits for patients, which may include:
- Eliminate an incision site
- No-touch placement of the implant
- Gentler delivery process
